What are the three most important factors an athlete should consider when choosing a NIL agent for representation?

Responses From The NIL Community:

  • "First and foremost, it's experience in the NIL space. You want to make sure that the representation has been in the space for some time and has worked with multiple brands on paid campaigns, for their clients. It's important for the agent to have active campaigns and campaigns they have worked on previously, with companies that have a notable name.

Secondly, it's about how you feel when you talk to the agent. An agent should be honest and easy to talk to. Remember this is the company representing you to brands, so you want to make sure that they have similar values and morals as you. Always listen to your gut!

Thirdly, do they care about you as a person or an athlete? You want an agent who genuinely cares about you and your wellbeing. When you're stressed with school, your sport, other outside factors, you want an agent who's going to say, hey maybe we need to pause on NIL, so you can catch your breath. Being a student athlete is hard, and you want someone who will ALWAYS be in your corner!"
