Grand Rapids, MI (May, 2024) - Basepath, the leading name, image and likeness (NIL) operations software provider for collectives, universities and college athletes, has officially joined The Collective Association (TCA) as a founding member. All affiliate members who join in the first year are considered founding members.

"Basepath brings their network and deep experience within the collective world to the partnership, adding tremendous value to our organization,” said TCA President Russell White. “As a unified voice within The Collective Association, we are dedicated to championing the interests of our member collectives and advancing NIL opportunities."

Basepath is hosting a webinar, "The Collective Association’s Initiatives'' with White as the guest speaker on Thursday, May 30th at 1 pm. The discussion will include new exclusive announcements. Register here.

TCA Chairman and Spyre Sports Group Co-Founder and President (the NIL entity for the University of Tennessee) Hunter Baddour has outlined three core objectives of TCA: Athlete Protection, A Unified Understanding, and Establishment of a Collective Voice. In an official statement, Baddour emphasized TCA's commitment to advancing opportunities and fairness for college athletes, with the addition of new members bolstering the collective efforts to shape the future of NIL.

TCA is launching an Athlete Advisory Committee soon, with representatives from each collective.

"Basepath is committed to empowering collectives within The Collective Association as they navigate the evolving landscape of NIL opportunities.” said Basepath Founder and CEO Thomas Thomas Jr.  “Together, we strive to advance the NIL ecosystem, ensuring fair and equitable opportunities for student-athletes now and in the future."

Thomas added, "Basepath works with more collectives than anyone. We're excited to be partnered with an organization that's bringing best practices to collectives and helping support their organization.”

Over the past few months, TCA has expanded its membership to include over 30 collectives across the Power 4 conferences, with ongoing growth anticipated. Among its key initiatives is the development of a revenue-sharing model for athletes and working closely with other stakeholders in shaping the future of college athletics.
