FanJolt Partners with The Foundation to Provide Ohio State Athletes a Platform to Monetize Their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL)

NEW YORK (JULY 6, 2022) – FanJolt  and The Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that works with Ohio State student-athletes to help promote worthy charitable causes and make positive contributions to the local community, have announced a partnership to help Ohio State athletes monetize their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL).  The partnership provides a white-labeled version of FanJolt branded specifically with The Foundation’s colors and logos, available exclusively for Ohio State athletes. The white-labeled version of the app will be available for back-to-school in August.

FanJolt, a new experiential platform that launched in 2022, creates memorable interactions between fans and a curated list of premier talent to support their favorite causes. This new partnership will create opportunities on the platform and through the FanJolt app for Ohio State athletes to connect directly with fans through live broadcasts, personalized messages, recorded videos and more for a fee to earn revenue from their NIL.

“We are excited to announce our exclusive partnership with The Foundation and FanJolt as this will be another great way to engage with Buckeye fans and connect them directly with the student athletes,” comments Brian Schottenstein, Co-Founder of The Foundation.

“Philanthropy is an important part of FanJolt,” says Trevor Short, founder and CEO of FanJolt. “We are looking forward to furthering The Foundation’s mission around giving back while also giving student-athletes and their fans opportunities to connect in meaningful ways.”

Portions of the proceeds for FanJolt events go to a charity of each athlete’s choice.

Organizations supported by FanJolt include Rafa Nadal Foundation, Aaron Judge’s #AllRise Foundation, Patrick Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, Tua Tagovailoa’s Tua Foundation and Jewel’s Inspiring Children Foundation, with more to be identified by participating talent.

Trevor Short is available for interviews to comment on the new partnership and to talk about how FanJolt is making a difference for student-athletes and their fans. Contact Vicky Lynch at fanjolt@guidemybrand.com with any questions or to schedule an interview.

ABOUT FANJOLT

FanJolt is the ultimate destination for live access and creating memorable moments between fans and their favorite celebrities in sports, music, entertainment and pop culture while supporting important causes. The new FanJolt app creates the most direct encounters with celebrities at every price point, including live broadcasts, social media follows and recorded videos, with one-on-one video chat requests coming soon. Deriving its name from one of its unique features, FanJolt offers broadcast participants the special opportunity to be “Jolted” on screen for a one-on-one conversation with their favorite celebrity. FanJolt also allows talent and fans to engage to serve the greater good, with a portion of the proceeds from identified experiences going to philanthropic causes through the FanJolt Foundation, a fiscally sponsored project of the Player Philanthropy Fund, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The Foundation was founded in 2022 by Brian Schottenstein, President of Schottenstein Real Estate Group and Ohio State athletics enthusiast, and Cardale Jones, the championship winning quarterback on Ohio State’s 2014 team, with the goal of using the Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) of Ohio State student-athletes to help promote worthy charitable causes and make positive contributions to our local communities. Cardale and Brian became friends several years prior to launching The Foundation. They testified for NIL at the Ohio Statehouse to support Ohio college athletes profiting on their name, image and likeness. Senate Bill 187 was unanimously passed. The Foundation has an impressive board of directors with some of the most well-respected business leaders in Central Ohio. There are also former Ohio State athletes on the board, who have a pulse on how to capitalize on NIL.
