Horseshoe Collective, The Idaho Foodbank Partner for Snack Sacks

The Horseshoe Collective

BOISE, Idaho - The Horseshoe Collective has partnered with The Idaho Foodbank to launch The Foodbank’s Back to School Campaign to support nutrition for kids through their Backpack and School Pantry programs. To kick off the campaign the organizations are creating Snack Sacks, a project that will bring together community volunteers and Boise State student-athletes to assemble 4,000 healthy snack kits for food insecure youth in Idaho in advance of the upcoming school year, the organizations announced Tuesday.

The event will be held Thursday, July 25, from 1-5 p.m. in the West Stadium Lot - between Albertsons Stadium and ExtraMile Arena - on the Boise State University campus.

Food for Snack Sacks has been graciously donated by Albertsons, GoGo Squeeze and Clifbar and each kit will include a signed card from the student-athlete that assembled it.

“We are excited to launch this partnership with The Horseshoe Collective,” said Morgan Wilson, Chief Development Officer for The Idaho Foodbank. “We appreciate the community support of our mission to end hunger and we are excited to collaborate with Boise State student-athletes through a partnership with the Horseshoe Collective to make a positive impact on the lives of Idaho children.”

Joey & Lauren from My102.7FM, a duo that has already partnered with The Idaho Foodbank for its Backpack Buddies program, will be broadcasting live from the Snack Sacks event from 3-4 p.m. Additionally, Joey & Lauren listeners will have the opportunity to win volunteer opportunities at the Snack Sacks event in the week leading up to the event.
