MOGL Hires Chief Product Officer Matthew Himelstein
Bay Area-based Himelstein is an Experienced Marketplace Product Leader, Three-Time Founder, and Growth Expert
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - MOGL, the leading athlete marketplace and operations software provider powering the Name, Image, and Likeness (“NIL”) era of collegiate athletics, has hired San Francisco Bay Area-based Matthew Himelstein as Chief Product Officer.
Matthew is the team’s first product hire and brings an enhanced level of sophistication and experience to the fast-growing technology company as it prepares for its next phase of growth. As Chief Product Officer, Himelstein will manage the continued expansion of MOGL’s AI influencer marketing platform and backend software offering. He will also lead product strategy development and ensure effective execution both technically and operationally.

Matthew joins MOGL after leading product at Wonolo, the number one marketplace for on-demand staffing, where he helped grow revenue by 400%. Before Wonolo, Matthew co-founded three different companies (ApptheGame, Follow-Up.io, Lakumbra), and was a product leader at InfoScout, Pandora and Ticketfly, where he helped build the ticket scanning system used at Burning Man.
Matthew also served as Entrepreneur-In-Residence (EIR) at Eventbrite where he worked with the leadership team to overhaul their online events offering in 2019, which served as the foundation for Eventbrite selling 166 million online event tickets in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Matthew is excited to join MOGL and take advantage of the NIL opportunity for student-athletes. "The ability to connect brands with student-athletes in a marketplace model is an opportunity I could not turn down," he said.
Matthew was awarded a BA from Columbia University where he studied Economics and Visual Arts. He earned his MBA from Oxford University's Saïd Business School where he focused on entrepreneurship.
