Nevada NIL Collectives Announce Kickoff of the “Silver State Showdown”, a Rivalry Membership Campaign
This membership drive aims to elevate numbers for Friends of the Pack & Friends of UNILV, striving to outpace each other and infuse the Silver State rivalry into the NIL landscape.
(Reno, NV & LAS VEGAS) October 11, 2024 – Friends of the Pack and Friends of UNILV, the official NIL collectives supporting the student-athletes of the University of Nevada, Reno, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, respectively, are excited to announce the launch of the "Silver State Showdown" membership drive, showcasing the fierce competition between the two universities both on and off the field.
The Silver State Showdown seeks to competitively increase membership numbers by November 30, ahead of the Battle for Nevada football game between the University of Nevada and UNLV. This campaign reflects the collectives’ respective commitment and support of their student-athletes, as well as the deep rivalry between the Battle Born state’s flagship universities. In this new era of college athletics, the winners on the field for the years to come will likely reflect the amount of support given to its student-athletes in the form of NIL, encouraging the community to rally behind their university to produce better results for their favorite teams.
The official NIL collectives at both universities will battle to become the collective with the largest new member increase by rallying their fanbase, leveraging team success, and offering various exciting incentives and deliverables to encourage membership. The rivalry campaign will extend through the spring concluding with a best two of three champions from fall, winter, and springs seasons.
Nevada Wolf Pack Head Football Coach Jeff Choate emphasized the importance of fan engagement:
“It's time for the Silver State Showdown and we need your support more now than ever. This challenge isn’t just about what’s going on, on the field. It’s about what Coach Ault called Nevadatude: that can-do spirit that will always lead the Wolf Pack to the top. UNLV Director of Athletics Erick Harper shared a similar call to action:

This campaign is about more than just competition. It’s about showing Rebel student-athletes that their fans are behind them every step of the way.
