One Maryland Collective Introduces Key New Hires

One Maryland Collective

The new leadership team will continue to help One Maryland Collective grow.

(College Park, MD) Jan. 8, 2023 – One Maryland Collective, the pioneering Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) collective dedicated to supporting University of Maryland student-athletes, is thrilled to unveil its newly appointed leadership team, signaling a pivotal phase of growth and development. The collective is poised for advancement under the guidance of a dynamic trio of seasoned leaders: Executive Director, Chris Weiner; Director of Operations, Brian Kubasik; and Development and Sales Manager, Dan Crowley.

Weiner will lead One Maryland Collective, spearheading the strategic vision and revenue generation, developing corporate partnerships, fundraising, managing the staff and the relationship with the athletic department, and serving as the front face externally for the collective. Kubasik will focus on day-to-day operations, student-athlete engagements, contracting, marketing and events. Crowley will support donor development and secure philanthropic resources for the collective.

Weiner comes to One Maryland Collective after more than fifteen years of hands-on experience in the sports and entertainment industry. Most recently, Weiner served as the Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships with the Washington Nationals. A proud Terrapin, Weiner earned his BS and MBA from the University of Maryland.

“Navigating the dynamic landscape of NIL is a gateway to a new era in collegiate athletics,” Weiner said. “At One Maryland Collective, I’m excited to drive meaningful change, unlocking the true potential of NIL opportunities for University of Maryland athletics. This is about empowering Terrapin student-athletes to craft their own narrative and shape a brighter future beyond the game.”

Kubasik is a lifelong Terp who started his career in athletics while he was still a student at the University of Maryland. Having worked for Maryland Athletics for more than 10 years, Kubasik has been involved with a variety of roles including letter-winner engagement, donor relations and event planning.

“Spending the last decade at the University of Maryland has given me an appreciation for how much it takes to be a Terp, on and off the field,” Kubasik said. “I am thrilled to be working with One Maryland Collective and helping to give our hard-working student-athletes opportunities to build their brand and make a difference in our community.”

Crowley is no stranger to the NIL scene at Maryland, having most recently served as the Executive Vice President of The Best Is Ahead Foundation, a previous collective supporting Maryland football student-athletes. Crowley has also served as the Senior Associate Director of Athletics at his alma mater, Towson University.

“I am thrilled to join the team at One Maryland Collective and continue to build something special at the University of Maryland through NIL initiatives,” Crowley said. “The pursuit of excellence for the Terrapin student-athletes is real, and I’m excited to make an impact as we strive to compete for championships.”

Together, this team will lead the collective and the NIL opportunities that it provides to the University of Maryland’s 550-plus student-athletes across all 20 sports.
