The Preakness Stakes not only offers an opportunity to experience the excitement of horse racing but also provides a platform to celebrate Maryland's rich racing heritage and traditions, while further cementing the relationships between the College Park and Baltimore communities.”
The Preakness Stakes, a historic horse racing event dating back to 1873, holds a special place in Maryland's history and culture. Its significance is deeply intertwined with the rich heritage of the University of Maryland, which was founded in 1856. As both institutions have evolved over the years, they have shared a common commitment to excellence, innovation, and community.
