218 Champions Collective supports University of Minnesota-Duluth athletes
Duluth, MN (August 2024) – Basepath, the leading name, image and likeness (NIL) operations software provider for collectives, universities and college athletes, has officially been chosen as the exclusive NIL membership operations software provider for 218 Champions Collective, supporting University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) athletes, alumni and fans.
218 Champions is dedicated to creating diverse opportunities for their athletes, supporting the local community, and promoting their personal brands. The collective was founded by Troy Rian, Jared Everson, Luke Loheit and Conor McMenamin, the latter two being former UMD men’s hockey captains, bringing the unique athlete perspective to the organization. By partnering with Basepath, the collective will provide a platform designed to streamline NIL management, ensuring compliance with NIL regulations while offering financial literacy education.
"We are thrilled to partner with Basepath to enhance our NIL operations and support our student-athletes at UMD," said Rian. "Basepath's platform will not only streamline our NIL processes but also provide our athletes with the education and resources they need to maximize their opportunities and manage their financial responsibilities."
Basepath's athlete operations software will equip UMD athletes with the tools they need to manage their NIL business easily and efficiently. The platform includes features such as automated task assignments and payments, compliance dashboards for athletic department administrators, and smart contracts through a DocuSign integration. These features will enable athletes to manage their NIL opportunities more seamlessly, allowing them to focus more time and effort on their sports and academic pursuits.
"We are excited to collaborate with 218 Champions Collective to empower UMD athletes with our advanced NIL operations and membership management software," said Basepath Co-Founder and CEO Thomas Thomas Jr. "Our platform will provide the necessary tools and education for athletes to excel in their NIL endeavors while fostering a strong, engaged community of supporters.”
In addition to Basepath’s NIL operations software, their membership software will also streamline donations from alumni and fans to the athletes. The software will provide a centralized hub for managing membership tiers and recurring subscriptions, sport allocations, and members' personal information. Customized merchandising and mass outreach via email or text to members are also available features in the dashboard.
