Arkansas Edge Unveils New Spare Change Round Up Program to Boost NIL Support for Razorback Student-Athletes
Fayetteville, AR (October 18, 2024) – Arkansas Edge, the official NIL collective of the Arkansas Razorbacks, has launched the Spare Change Round Up program, allowing fans to easily support Razorback student-athlete NIL opportunities by rounding up their everyday purchases – regardless of where they eat, shop, spend or live.
Enrollees can link their debit cards, credit cards, or checking accounts to automatically contribute spare change from each transaction to NIL initiatives. “Fans have expressed a desire for a way to round up purchases to support NIL opportunities, and we’re excited to introduce the Spare Change Round Up program,” said Kyle May, Executive Director of Arkansas Edge. “This scalable and effortless approach allows fans to participate easily and choose how much they want to contribute without needing individual programs with each merchant and regardless of where they bank or live.”
Enrolling is quick—fans can securely connect their card or bank accounts in just minutes. After enrollment, all purchases will be rounded up to the nearest dollar with spare change from each totaled weekly. If the total exceeds $10, that amount will be deducted from the enrollee’s selected payment account and sent to Arkansas Edge; if it’s less than $10, it rolls over to the next week. Fans can also choose to multiply their contributions by 2 to 5 times, set weekly limits, change accounts, and pause the program as needed.
The Spare Change Round Up program is powered by SmartChange, an award-winning Arkansas-based fundraising platform, ensuring the program is secure, reliable, and user-friendly.
“As an Arkansas-based company, we're thrilled to partner with Arkansas Edge to introduce the Spare Change Round Up for Razorback fans,” said Becky Pittman, Co-Founder of SmartChange. “Our platform is designed to meet the needs of fundraisers and their supporters, making it easy for fans to make a difference while rounding up their purchases to support NIL opportunities.”
Emily Wineland, Co-Founder of SmartChange, added, “We believe everyone should have the chance to make a positive impact, regardless of the size of their contribution. The Spare Change Round Up program enables fans to support Razorback sports in a budget-friendly way while going about their daily lives.”
In addition to supporting NIL opportunities, fans who enroll will enjoy exclusive benefits, including discounts on Arkansas Edge merchandise and with partners, invitations to member-only events and giveaways, and a quarterly newsletter. Also, those who enroll in the program before Noon (CT) on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, will have chances to win prizes like tickets for the Men’s Basketball exhibition game against Kansas on Friday, October 25, 2024, tickets to Big Red’s for the Football game against Ole Miss on Saturday, November 2, 2024, and other fun giveaways.
