MIAMI, FLA. – Clifford Taylor IV, a social media influencer who walked-on to the University of Florida football team in 2019 despite never playing the sport, launched “Walk-on Gang” on Friday. Walk-on Gang unites walk-ons across the country under one brand, empowering them to secure Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals. Taylor, a professional sports social media specialist, leverages his large social media audience (TikTok, 373k followers; Instagram, 88k followers) to drive traffic to members’ profiles through “stories,” “mentions,” and a unified hashtag, #WalkOnGang. Clifford also serves as members’ content advisor, helping them tell their stories and grow their social media accounts.

“Walk-on Gang started out as a nickname for my followers--and now it is a family," said Walk-on Gang Founder Clifford Taylor. "Unless a walk-on has a big social presence, it is hard for them to secure NIL deals. My entire life I have lived by my mom’s core belief: give to others because you never know how you may impact someone’s life. Walk-on Gang provides a unified voice to walk-ons everywhere, empowering them with infectious social media content and brands to land NIL deals.”

There is no fee to become a member of Walk-on Gang. To join, walk-ons use the hashtag #WalkOnGang in their Instagram and TikTok stories. Clifford sends each walk-on that uses the hashtag Walk-on Gang merch. Once walk-ons receive their merch, they officially become members of Walk-on Gang, uniting walk-ons across the country under one brand.

Since launching Walk-on Gang Friday evening, six walk-ons from across the country have signed up: Chris Miller, Georgia Tech; TJ Gilbert, Oregon; Jack Anders, Florida; Adam Mihalek, Florida; Jo Ruiz, Buffalo; Diego Preciado, Stanford. Clifford Taylor IV sent t-shirts and sweatshirts to Walk-on Gang’s first members.

Clifford’s social content expertise has helped transform some of the biggest brands in sports. After graduating from the University of Florida in 2021, Clifford joined the LA Rams as a social and graphic design specialist, overseeing their TikTok content. He helped the Rams’ TikTok following grow from 400k to 1.2M en route to their Super Bowl LVI victory. Clifford currently serves as a social content specialist for the NBA.

“I know my playing time at the University of Florida is over, but my love for college athletics and UF will never waiver. My duty as a UF alumni and former walk-on is to pave the way for walk-ons to have lifelong success,” said Walk-on Gang Founder Clifford Taylor.

About Clifford Taylor IV

After Clifford’s unsuccessful bid to join the University of Florida basketball team as a walk-on in 2017, he joined the university’s intramural league for flag football as he thought his days of organized sports were over. He took the league by storm, catching the eye of a UF football player that encouraged Clifford to walk-on to the team. Having never played football, Clifford successfully walked on to the team in 2019. Shortly after joining the team, Clifford spontaneously made a comical TikTok of his life as a walk-on, which was the beginning of his internet stardom.
