General Manager - Cap Management

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:  Reporting directly to the Vice President – Cap Management, the General Manager – Cap Management is responsible for the leadership, strategic planning, management and administration of the NIL Budget and Cap for all sports on a daily basis. They will work with Administration and Coaches to help set a vision of what the NIL budget should be for the fiscal year and offer guidance and analysis on how to manage the collectives’ budgets. They will review player contracts and develop transaction documents for appropriate stakeholder review. Work with coaches and athletics administration to formulate player recruitment strategy and optimal roster construction, while implementing analytical modelling and frameworks. Report and become knowledgeable on spending trends and analysis across the college athletics landscape for current players, transfer portal players, and future players. Assist in the presentation of numbers on how the collective is performing as it relates to budgeting goals and spend. Monitor and ensure compliance with the NIL budget for each team. Work collaboratively with the Executive Director of Revenue to actively offer help in growing membership, fund-raising, and revenue generating activities for the collective, through donor development, membership, events, and corporate partnerships. Perform other duties as presented by the leadership team at Blueprint Sports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics, traits, and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university; preferably with a focus in finance, economics, or business management

  • Understanding of Salary Cap Management preferred

  • High level of expertise with analytics and financial modeling

  • Demonstrated understanding of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) as it relates to the collegiate athletics space preferred but not required

  • Proven track record of quickly developing and maintaining strong and lasting relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders

  • Proven track record of providing strategic planning and direction for appropriate constituencies

  • Possess a conscientious attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and honesty and has a reputation as a person who always does the right/fair thing

  • Be proactive and self-motivated by a will to achieve results and win

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-level results

  • Ability to work nights/weekends/sporting events and travel (<10%) as needed

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite(s)
