N.C. State Star Center DJ Burns Announces His Return To Wolfpack Basketball
The announcement coincides with a custom DJ Burns merchandise line and deal with Adidas.
Raleigh, N.C. – (April 27, 2023) Today, star center DJ Burns announced his return to N.C. State to play with the Wolfpack for another season. Leading the ACC in field goal percentage, the NC State fan favorite says he is fired up to get back to his home court. Burns will host a Zoom press conference with members of the media on Thursday, April 27 at 2 p.m. EST.
“I am incredibly proud to run with the Wolfpack,” said Burns. “This community has welcomed me with open arms and the support from the fans, alumni, and students has been overwhelming. I can’t wait to see what another great year has in store.”
To commemorate this special announcement, Burns also released the Big 30 Collection – a new signature line of merch in collaboration with the Pack of Wolves NIL Collective. His nicknames “Big 30”, “Beast Boy Burns” and “Smooth Operator” ring loud on campus and this new line of hoodies and tees tie together impactful moments from his basketball story, while connecting these nicknames he is called affectionately by fans. The tee-shirt ($45) and the hoodie ($130) are both available for sale on the Pack of Wolves NIL Collective website. Fans who purchase the first 50 pieces will receive a personalized thank you note and autograph from DJ Burns himself.
Fans are excited to see Burns play again and are in full support of his growing brand, as he joins the likes of other fellow basketball stars Angel Reese and Flau'jae. Like them, Burns is taking full advantage of NIL opportunities. Burns recently secured a deal with sports and apparel brand Adidas with Post Game. The campaign will be rolling out this season to celebrate their Spring Style collection. The musician athlete also dropped a single Beast Boy last month.
“I am most excited about reconnecting with my fans,” said Burns. “My goal is to take our team back to March Madness and on to win a coveted Championship title with my teammates. During the off season, I will focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, training and, most importantly working to become the best version of myself.”
