The Matador Club Announces Signing of USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Matador Club is proud to announce a significant enhancement to the Texas Tech softball program, underscoring its commitment to fostering excellence and supporting the development of top-tier talent. This signing aligns with The Matador Club's mission to elevate Texas Tech’s men’s and women’s athletic programs while setting the standard in the new era of college athletics.

The Matador Club has signed an NIL agreement with NiJaree Canady, one of the best softball players in the country. NiJaree, the 2024 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, All-Pac12 First Team selection, and the 2024 Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year, brings an impressive resume to Texas Tech. With a phenomenal 0.53 ERA and 243 strikeouts, both ranking #1, NiJaree's arrival marks a pivotal moment for Texas Tech softball.

The Matador Club's support reflects its unwavering dedication to Texas Tech athletics, providing the resources and opportunities necessary for athletes to thrive both on and off the field.
