The collective’s newly formed board includes notable University of Maryland alumni, supporters, and experts who will advance NIL opportunities for Terps student-athletes.

(College Park, MD) Apr 10, 2024One Maryland Collective is proud to announce the formation of its inaugural Advisory Board, comprised of esteemed individuals and University of Maryland alumni from diverse backgrounds and expertise. The Advisory Board will play a pivotal role in guiding the collective’s strategic direction and advancing its mission of serving student-athletes at the University of Maryland. 

The members of the One Maryland Collective Advisory Board are: 

  • Brian Phipps –  Financial Advisor and University of Maryland Lacrosse Alumnus

  • Harry Geller – Entrepreneur and Member of the University of Maryland Board of Trustees

  • Jeff Leventhal – Managing Director and Partner at Hightower Bethesda

  • Karen Grubber – Corporate In-House Counsel and Nonprofit Consultant

  • Mary Pratt-Henaghan – Global Media Operations and Technology Executive

  • Stan Goldstein – Founder of Capitol Title and Former President of the Terrapin Club

The overarching responsibilities of the Advisory Board include providing strategic counsel and guidance to One Maryland Collective leadership, leveraging their expertise and networks to support fundraising and corporate partnership efforts, as well as other key collective initiatives that will advance One Maryland’s NIL efforts on behalf of Terps student-athletes.

"We are thrilled to welcome such a distinguished group of individuals to our Advisory Board,” said Chris Weiner, Executive Director of One Maryland Collective, on the impact this group will have on the collective’s operations and the success of its student-athletes. “Their amassed business expertise and passion for Maryland Athletics will be invaluable as we work towards our shared vision of providing student-athletes with professional and personal development opportunities.”

Harry Geller, Advisory Board Member, shared his excitement, stating: "I'm truly excited to be involved with One Maryland Collective. This initiative stands as a cornerstone for nurturing the talent and dedication within Maryland Athletics. The collective's commitment to excellence not only fosters immediate victories but also sows the seeds for long-term triumphs.”

Mary Pratt-Henaghan, Advisory Board Member also expressed her enthusiasm, saying: “As a longtime supporter of Maryland athletics, particularly women’s basketball, and a former Terrapin Club President, I’m very excited about the creation of One Maryland Collective. The benefits it will provide our student-athletes will make our Terrapins as competitive as possible in the rapidly evolving collegiate landscape.”

The formation of the Advisory Board marks an important milestone in One Maryland Collective's journey towards creating positive impacts and making a difference in the lives of Terrapin student-athletes.
